Broker, trader, agent

Also called: Courtier, négociant

A broker brings a buyer and a seller together, who sign the contract between themselves; the broker never takes title to the goods and is paid a commission (under Swiss law, Articles 412 and following of the Code of Obligations). A trader buys the goods and resells them in its own name, with its margin. A commercial agent negotiates or concludes business on a lasting basis on behalf of a company (Articles 418a and following).
